Jennie makes K-pop history with back-to-back headline slots at two major European festivals

KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 — Blackpink member Jennie has become the first K-pop solo artist to headline two major European music festivals on consecutive weekends after leading the line-up at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival and Poland’s Open’er Festival.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Jennie took to the stage at Roskilde on Friday and Open’er on Saturday (local time), performing songs including Mantra, ExtraL, Starlight and Like Jennie, her agency OA Entertainment said today.

Thomas Soenderby Jepsen, Roskilde Festival’s head of music, said Jennie’s appearance reflected current music trends and highlighted the festival’s forward-looking identity.

Open’er organisers described the singer as “one of the most influential female artists of this era.”

Jennie has also attracted global attention in recent months, with her collaboration Dracula with Tame Impala reaching No. 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

She is due to perform at several other major international festivals later this year, including Spain’s Mad Cool Festival 2026, Lollapalooza Chicago in the United States and Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026.
