MUMBAI, July 6 — Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has tied the knot with longtime partner Gauri Spratt in a private ceremony held at his Mumbai residence, keeping the celebration small and family-focused, according to The Statesman.
The couple formalised their marriage in an intimate setting attended by close family and friends, with children from both sides present for the occasion.
Heavy rainfall hit Mumbai on the day of the wedding, but the weather did not disrupt the low-key celebrations, which proceeded as planned at Khan’s home.
Among those spotted arriving were former cricketer Irfan Pathan, actor-comedian Vir Das and filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker. Vir Das has previously worked with Aamir Khan Productions, including in Delhi Belly (2011), as well as later collaborations.
Aamir’s children — Junaid Khan and Ira Khan — were present at the ceremony, along with his son Azad from his previous marriage to filmmaker Kiran Rao.
Gauri Spratt’s son from her earlier marriage also attended, bringing both families together for the occasion.
Ahead of the wedding, Aamir had indicated that the couple planned a simple registration of marriage in the presence of close friends and family, adding that there would be no formal reception.
Reports said the day began with the couple registering their marriage under the Special Marriage Act before proceeding with the private ceremony, making the legal formalities part of the same-day proceedings.
The wedding marks Aamir’s third marriage.
He was previously married to Reena Dutta and later to Kiran Rao, while this is Gauri Spratt’s second marriage.
The couple first met through Aamir’s cousin, Nuzhat Khan, in Bengaluru and dated for about a year before going public with their relationship shortly before his 60th birthday last year.
They have reportedly been living together at Aamir’s Bandra residence since making their relationship public.
Aamir had earlier requested fans and the media to send their blessings, describing the wedding as a small, intimate gathering at home and expressing hope for a happy new chapter together.
