Malay Mail’s Top 10: Anime reigns at Malaysian box office with ‘Chainsaw Man’ leading the charge

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — The anime wave has well and truly swept the nation this year — from Demon Slayer to Detective Conan — and now Chainsaw Man: The Movie – Reze Arc, a direct sequel to the first season of the hit series, has stormed into cinemas to claim the No. 1 spot at the local box office.

Also new to the big screen this week are 731, a Mandarin historical drama, and Kitab Sijjin Dan Illiyyin, an Indonesian horror film, adding a fresh mix of international titles for moviegoers.

Meanwhile, Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, generates buzz, and The Conjuring: Last Rites is still delivering scares in cinemas.
