KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 3 — Malaysian model turned actress Anna Jobling made history in Seoul after clinching the Outstanding Asian Star trophy at the 20th Seoul International Drama Awards 2025 (SDA).
The 25-year-old rising star was given the award for her role as the single mother Cahaya in the 28-episode TV3 drama Hai Cinta, Dengarkanlah! (Dear Love, Listen!).
Other stars who have won the same category include Jisoo from the famous K-pop group Blackpink, who won for her role as Young-joo in the zombie romantic-comedy series Newtopia.
Anna via a press statement said that she is extremely grateful for the recognition by SDA and for giving Malaysia a chance to shine on the international stage.
“This win is really meaningful because it is not just for myself but this is for all my fans, family and also the production team who has never stopped supporting me.
“I would also like to thank Tonton and TV3 for always being part of my creative journey.
“This trophy is a symbol of pride for us all, a very special gift for me to bring home to Malaysia,” she said.
Anna added that she hopes that her win could inspire other new generations of actors in Malaysia to dream big and go beyond the local scope of fame.
