Malaysian feature ‘Tarung: Unforgiven’ success continues with RM15.7m collection within 11 days screening


KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 — The local feature film Tarung: Unforgiven continues to ride a wave of success.

Directed by Razaisyam Rashid, the action film has grossed RM15.7 million within 11 days of screening, further proving that local films remain a powerful force and continue to hold a special place in the hearts of Malaysian audiences.

Razaisyam stated, “Seeing the extraordinary response from audiences towards Tarung: Unforgiven has truly touched my heart and the entire production team.

“We made this film with passion, discipline, and commitment to elevate the standard of local action films to a higher level.

“The RM15.7 million box office collection is not just a number, but a clear signal that Malaysian audiences are ready and open to supporting local works that are bold, honest, and high-quality.

“I hope this momentum will continue and bring even more viewers to cinemas to experience Tarung: Unforgiven on the big screen,” he said.

Actor, producer, and executive producer, Aedy Ashraf, shared the same sentiment.

“We are extremely grateful for the tremendous support given by audiences since the very first day Tarung: Unforgiven was released,” he said.

“Seeing the reactions in cinemas and the conversations happening on social media has given us immense energy and motivation throughout this journey.

The film features a stellar cast of Malaysian talents, including Aedy Ashraf, Mierul Aiman, Bront Palarae, Zul Ariffin, Amir Ahnaf, Azira Shafinaz, Sharifah Sakinah, Ubai Amir, Sky Iskandar, Ikmal Amry, Aeril Zafrel, Razib Salimin, Shaharuddin Thamby, Wak Ruzaidi, Theebaan G, and Akmal Asyraf, as well as real-life fighters Jai JMT and Ijam Asri.

The title recorded RM10.5 million within its first week following its May 7 release and also secured the No. 1 spot in GSC’s Top 10 chart.
