South Korean boy band The Boyz cancel Malaysia concert as The Blaze Tour woes grow

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — The Malaysian leg of The Boyz, The Blaze World Tour, originally scheduled for October 18 at IDEA LIVE, has been cancelled, according to an official statement released by IME Malaysia.

Fans who purchased tickets via official channels — BOOKMYSHOW and FANTOPIA — will automatically receive a full refund through their original payment method.

The statement also clarified that no further action is required from ticket holders, and that refunds will be processed within 30 working days from the date of the cancellation announcement.

This cancellation comes as little surprise, as The Blaze tour — launched earlier this year with opening shows in Seoul — has been plagued by multiple cancellations and rescheduling issues.

Initially planned to cover several cities across Asia and North America, with additional dates promised, the tour has faced ongoing setbacks from early on.

According to multiple reports, the Oakland stop was the first to be cancelled, followed by venue changes and rescheduling for other cities.

Reports suggest that low ticket sales in the U.S. were a contributing factor to the complications.

The group later announced the cancellation of their Taipei and Macau shows, originally slated for October 11 and 25, respectively.

Malaysia has now joined the growing list of cancelled stops, and as of now, there is no official update on whether the upcoming shows in Bangkok or Jakarta will proceed as scheduled.

No specific reason was provided for the cancellation of the Malaysia show, sparking frustration among Malaysian fans on Instagram, many of whom expressed disappointment over the lack of transparency.

The Kuala Lumpur stop would have marked The Boyz’s second performance in Malaysia, following their first show at Mega Star Arena in September last year — part of their Zeneration II World Tour — which drew a crowd of over a thousand fans.

The Boyz, currently consisting of 10 members — Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric — have built a strong fanbase in Malaysia.

They are widely praised for their high-energy, synchronised choreography and commanding stage presence, which is often described as intense, polished, and emotionally captivating.
