KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 — Local action thriller Tarung: Unforgiven has collected RM20.3 million at the box office nationwide since its release on May 7.

The film crossed RM10.5 million in its first week before reaching RM15.7 million within 11 days of screening.

Its promotional tour continued last weekend with stops in Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Perak.

Actor, producer and executive producer Aedy Ashraf said meeting audiences in person had been one of the most memorable parts of the film’s release.

“Throughout the journey of Tarung: Unforgiven, one of the things I will remember most is the opportunity to meet and interact with fans personally.

“From promotional tours packed with audiences, the cheers and overwhelming support, to platforms like Threads and other social media where many are still sharing their comments and opinions — all of it means a great deal to us.

“Seeing the audience’s reactions face-to-face gives a completely different feeling because we can truly feel their spirit and support,” he shared.

Director, screenwriter and executive producer Razaisyam Rashid said the response from audiences had been meaningful beyond the box office figure.

“What touches me the most is not just the box office numbers, but the opportunity to personally witness how Tarung: Unforgiven has been received by audiences.

“Throughout the film’s promotional tour, Aedy and I had the chance to meet many fans in person, speak with them directly, and hear their thoughts and experiences after watching the film.

“I hope this success will open more opportunities for local action films to continue growing.”

Tarung: Unforgiven features an ensemble cast including Aedy Ashraf, Mierul Aiman, Bront Palarae, Zul Ariffin, Amir Ahnaf, Azira Shafinaz, Sharifah Sakinah, Ubai Amir, Sky Iskandar, Ikmal Amry, Aeril Zafrel, Razib Salimin, Shaharuddin Thamby, Wak Ruzaidi, Theebaan G and Akmal Asyraf, as well as real-life fighters Jai JMT and Ijam Asri.
