LONDON, Oct 3 — British fashion magazine Elle UK has apologised for excluding Blackpink member Rosé from a group photo posted on Instagram during Paris Fashion Week.

The magazine faced backlash after uploading an image that featured Hailey Bieber, Charli XCX and Zoë Kravitz, but cropped out Rosé, who had stood at the far right in the original photo.

According to Korea JoongAng Daily, Elle UK explained via Instagram story that Rosé “was cropped from a group photo for size” and added, “We sincerely apologise for a recent post from Paris Fashion Week in which Rosé of BLACKPINK was cropped from a group photo for size.”

Elle UK also stated, “The post has been removed, and Elle UK remains committed to ensuring our future coverage represents the full spectrum of our audience we so greatly respect.”

Rosé, born Roseanne Park, is a Korean-New Zealand singer and member of the globally successful K-pop group Blackpink, and attended Paris Fashion Week last month as a global ambassador for Saint Laurent.

The controversy intensified when Charli XCX shared the same cropped photo on her Instagram, where Rosé appeared visibly darkened.

Elle UK later uploaded solo shots of Rosé on Wednesday, describing her look as “The most standout look came courtesy of Blackpink star #Rose.”

However, many online users criticised the gesture as “too late” and “disrespectful,” with some calling for a direct apology to the artist, noting that the original apology was only shared via Instagram Story, which disappears after 24 hours.
