LONDON, Aug 23 — Andrew Garfield has revealed he maintains a secret Instagram account, admitting to heavy use of the platform.
According to Variety, the actor said his online habits often leave him frustrated, describing his screen time as excessive.
“I’m as addicted as anybody. My screen time notifications are horrific to me. It’s like, I’ve given all of those hours to nothing,” he told the magazine.
“It’s genuinely enraging because we don’t have as much control over these impulses as we should, and it’s been by design. It’s pretty dark when you look at it.”
Garfield noted that his browsing interests include “weird ceramics” and “lots of Japanese kind of craftspeople.”
His comments come as social media and technology underpin his latest film, The Magic Faraway Tree. The adaptation of Enid Blyton’s series follows a London family who move to the countryside, with Garfield and Claire Foy starring as parents trying to limit their children’s dependence on devices.
