KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 — Festival-goers attending HardTech and Transmission this weekend have been reminded to follow strict safety and conduct standards as organisers roll out enhanced measures in line with new guidelines set by the Youth and Sports Ministry (KBS).
In a media statement, organiser Hi:Five Entertainment said attendees are encouraged to dress in comfortable ravewear — including shorts, joggers, tank tops and breathable fabrics — paired with closed shoes such as sneakers or boots for safety.
Accessories, glow items, face paint and LED pieces are welcome, but topless or shirtless outfits, overly revealing clothing, and attire bearing offensive prints or symbols are strictly prohibited.
Costumes or masks covering the face entirely will also not be permitted for security reasons.
“We’re bringing world-class production and artists to Malaysia while ensuring the wellbeing of everyone on-site remains our top priority.
“Our goal is to set a new benchmark for safe, inclusive and unforgettable dance music experiences in the region,” a Hi:Five Entertainment’s spokesperson said.
The measures, introduced in support of KBS’s new five standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electronic dance music (EDM) events, will include Hydration Points, on-site medical teams, anti-drug awareness messaging, standby hospitals and drug detection canine units — all aimed at ensuring a safe and responsible festival environment.
The twin festivals — HardTech (featuring Hardmission and Techmission) and Transmission — will take place on October 18 and 19 at the Helipad, Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC), coinciding with the Petronas Grand Prix of Malaysia 2025 pre-party.
Set against the high-octane backdrop of MotoGP weekend, the collaboration marks the first time these internationally acclaimed brands are brought together in Malaysia by Hi:Five Entertainment, promising to unite motorsport fans and electronic music lovers for a weekend of adrenaline and rhythm.
HardTech — a revolutionary force in the hard electronic scene — is known for its intense energy and futuristic rave experience that blends hard-hitting beats with immersive visuals.
Meanwhile, Transmission, one of the world’s most recognisable trance music brands, has earned global acclaim for its cinematic production and storytelling through light, lasers and sound.
Together, both festivals promise an electrifying sonic journey, from uplifting melodies to relentless basslines — marking a new chapter for Malaysia’s dance music community.
Among the star-studded line-up are Markus Schulz, Aly & Fila, Ben Nicky, Sub Zero Project, Warface, Driftmoon, and local acts such as Chukies & Whackboi, Mister Ariffin and Bass Agent.
The two-day event, expected to draw around 15,000 attendees, will run from 3pm to 11.50pm daily.
